How works the mechanical wood harvest?
A machine, called “Harvester”, drives in your forest stand and chops down selected trees at their stump. The next working step is to bring down the tree, bring of the knurls and to cut the tree into separate parts, called “log”. This work is made by a multifunctional machine, the “harvester head”.
The separate parts are loaded by a machine, called “Forwarder”, and transported away to the wood-place. At this place the trees are stored until the wood-truck takes it away on the road.
How do they measure the trees and define the revenues?
 The Harvester is equipped with a special measure electronic.
This makes it possible to define exactly the diameter of the tree and the length of the logs. In addition the machine operator has to select the trees. This works by pressing a button during object time.
Because of this measuring and classification it is possible to calculate revenues (in addiction of the trade price). This makes you sure, that the quantities calculated by the buyer are correct.
The common dimension unit for wood is the “solid cubic meter”.
In which countries do the Gebrüder Konrad work?
 We work all over Europe! Until now the main focus was on the countries Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Rumania. We have experiences with arrangement and customs clearance and we are manly independence because of our own service cars. (one for every harvester)
What size should a wood have for let you make a harvest?
There are no special features! For us it is also possible to thin smaller forest stands.
